Machu Piccu
The city was built in 1440 after Christ. The city was very hard to reach so the archaeologists think that it was used as a country home to rest a little and maybe do some work because the nobles got houses there too. The city was inhabited till 1532 when the Spanish came and conquered the Inca's. Machu Piccu was never found by the Spanish and that's the only reason why it's still intact.

For example, the site of Machu Picchu in Peru was constructed by the Incas and its “city buildings and terraces… are of the best quality”, and they are still in existence today. This shows that the Incas were a very sophisticated society who solved their agricultural situations and provided shelter for their people. This also shows that they were able to live comfortably in an area where the geography is mountainous and has crazy weather. In addition the Incas also built “thousands of miles of roads” and walls with “blocks that fit so snugly that a knife blade cannot be slipped into the cracks between the rocks.” This shows that the Incas were skilled builders when it came to building walls.…

If left up to the text of the 16th century the fall of the Aztec Empire would be accredited only to Cortes, but as Kevin O. Collins stressed in The Fatal Flaws of the Aztec Empire we see that we must look past the conquest and look more to the political, and religious view of the Aztec. Writers, such as William Prescott saw the flaws in the manuscripts written by those under Cortes and stressed that it was the mismanagement of Tenochtitlan that caused its fall. Unfortunately for this paper I will not be focusing on the fall of the Aztec Empire, but I will be focusing on what made the empire great; its symbolism, myths, temples, and if only for a little its ruler Motecuhzoma the second. Tenochtitlan, the capital city of the Aztec Empire was in what is now present day Mexico City. Tenochtitlan was immense in size housing over 200,000 inhabitants at its high; the city was constructed on an island.…
