My mother came to the U.S from Mexico at the age of 16 in the back of a white man’s trunk. She had my 3 brothers and myself here in the U.S and she worked two jobs for 7 years in order to be able to provide for us. She was and still is a single mother. My family’s background has influenced me to become successful and to not taking anything for granted. My family’s background has influenced me to do better and to stay in school in order to have a better future for myself and my family. Since my family was very poor growing up, I am determined to make a change for my future. Learning about the difficulties my family has gone through makes me very appreciative to have what I have. My family’s background has also influenced me to grasp every great opportunity that comes my way. Learning that my mother wanted to go to school but couldn’t because she couldn’t afford it makes me appreciate being able to go to school. …show more content…
I will get an education and get a good paying career in order to be economically stable in my future. Also, I will take risks and opportunities that will better my future. I will be grateful for having a house to live in and for eating everyday. I will also be hardworking and do everything possible to make sure my family is stable. Lastly, I will constantly thank my mother and support her forever because she continues to not give up on me and she has always put mine and my brothers future before
