If these lyrics do not have a positive message, then it can negatively affect the listener. Additionally vocal music has been shown to distract, and become a disservice to the listener’s focus, memory, and attention. (The Effect Music Has On The Brain). In contrast instrumental music is still helpful for memory, focus and attention.
