Not too many student have the extra added on responsibilities of caring for a child while attending college. It is not an easy thing to handle, but there are ways to make life easier and not so stressful. Being a college student is hard, but being a full time mom and a college student is even harder. Being honest and building relationships with professors, knowing ones priorities, and planning ahead will make the life of a full time student successful.

Said more simply, you often don’t know what you really want. How can you optimize decision making if it’s not clear what you’re optimizing for (Yoav Shoham)? Parents know they need to make the decision to do their homework to better their future for them and their family but would they rather do that or spend time with their children. Although some may say being a full time student makes life easier because one can get through school faster doesn 't mean it is easier for single parents. Not enough supervision and under trained staff can affect with how a child is given critical attention, especially if they are hurt or injured (Helena R). Although some may say reliable child care is hard to come by, it is important because single parents need to be able to trust their babysitter. Although some say planning ahead is not necessary it actually is for single parents because they never know when a situation will occur that involves their child. Although some may say that parents should stay home with their children, do not realize that getting a better education will help provide a better life for their children. Higher education is perceived as extremely important, and for most people a college education has become the necessary admission ticket to good jobs and a middle-class lifestyle
