How Long Does Chick-O Get In Fruit

Decent Essays
The data from Table 1.1 provides a measurement of how hard the Jell-O gets when fruit is not added and when different types of fruit are added: pineapples, mangoes and apples. The deeper the coin drops into the Jell-O, the less hardened the Jell-O is. The control, no fruit, hardened the most, which is shown in the table because the coin could not break the surface of the Jell-O, so it did not sink into the Jell-O at all. The coin sank into the Jell-O with the added pineapple. The coin dropped an average of 1.49 inches into the pineapple Jell-O, the most out of all of the averages. This means that it was the most liquified; it did not harden properly. The Jell-O hardened a little bit more around the mangoes, with the coin sinking an average

Based on the data collected in this lab, it can be concluded that double-stuffed Oreos do not contain double the amount of filling as regular Oreos. In the experiment, the mass and height of each entire Oreo was measured and recorded. Then, the cookie was split apart and the cream filling was scraped off. The remaining Oreo components, the two cookie pieces, were measured for mass and height again. By subtracting the cookie measurements from the Oreo measurements, we found the height and mass of the cream fillings, which we then averaged.…

In the experiment, I tested how soapy water would affect the amount of droplets the penny can hold. The results of my experiment show that the penny holds less droplets of soap water. When the soap is added to the water, the soap collides with water breaking down the tension. As a result, it harder for the droplets to hold together. To find whether my hypothesis was right, I did several of trials to figure out whether my hypothesis was correct.…

Osmosis is the movement of water molecules through a semi permeable membrane to a low water potential from a high water potential. This semi permeable membrane is there to control the movement of materials that pass through the membrane out and into the cell (BBC). The rate of osmosis can be affected due to multiple aspects contributing to the effectiveness of the osmosis. This includes elements such as size of the particles, the temperature as well as the concentration of the solute. In the case of this experiment, the size of particles are something to consider as they can affect the rate of osmosis.…

The transpiration of cells nutrients apparat in different ways; one way is Osmosis. Osmosis is the diffusion of water. The hypothesis was that as the amount of sugar in the water increased, the amount of time it takes to dissolve sugar would increase. My group’s data from the experiment refutes this hypothesis, because the amount of sugar already present in the water had no effect on the time it took to dissolve. The only variable that changed was the amount of sugar that was already in the glass. Other variables my group attempted to avoid changing was the amount of water in the glass, how much sugar put into the glass, and the speed of mixing and dissolving the sugar. Potential causes of error include stirring at different speeds for each trial, due to human error, and using too much water and not enough sugar.…

Despite there being many other viable options to this titration process, I chose the iodine solution method because the color change is easiest to detect when using juices. The other tests are simple when using clear solutions, but on juices, the color change 000166-XXX 6 is not as apparent due to the colors of the juices, making it harder to get accurate results.…
