How Jack Moore Changed My Life

Jack Moore is man who puts a smile on everyone he meets. A 72 year old loving retired man who has had all sorts of jobs from tossing newspaper on people’s front door to bagging at the local Jewel Osco, even delivering pizzas and being UPS driver. Growing up was very difficult as he was put up for adoption at the age of 1 because his mother did not feel like she was ready to raise a child. His father was a drunk beat dad, who did not care about him either. To avoid never seeing him again, Jack’s grandmother decided to adopt him. Jack grew up and his grandmother told him he would have to start working, so at the age of 16 he was delivering newspapers. For Jack it was all about work as he had to provide for his 2 kids. In the morning, he would drive a truck either for UPS or Coca-Cola, then at night he would deliver pizzas. He would dedicate all this time to provide everything for his children and Now 72 years old, he spends his time in his garage, waiting for his wife to get home at 5 o'clock each day. …show more content…
My dad at the time was working for a roofing company and was working on his roof. My dad and Jack kept in contact after my dad finished his roof. Ever since then we always go to his house. Jack has two children who are now in their thirties. His son is a professor at a university and his daughter owns an animal food store in Indiana. They rarely visit him and he does not now much about his two grandsons. After working his butt off to provide only the best for them they pay him back with this.
