Most of the strange actions happened in the West Egg. One day , NIck went to accompany Tom to meet the woman he’s having an affair and saw how flirty Myrtle and Tom got as he went to grab chairs.

“I want to get one for the apartment. They’re nice to have - a dog.” (Fitzgerald , 27). After they bought the dog they set off to the apartment and Nick didn’t feel comfortable with going to the apartment but didn’t refuse the invitation Tom offered him(Fitzgerald , 28). Most people would have said something like “Why do you people rent an apartment and use business as an excuse to have an affair with your partner who isn’t your spouse.” Once again Nick reserved his judgement going back to his father’s words. Seeing affairs and not the only strange thing Nick avoided criticising. There was a day in which Gatsby invited him on a day out. They had a conversation about how Nick wins little and Gatsby was willing to give him extra money in his business.
