In the novel, The Color Purple, Celie is at the point where she doesn’t write to God anymore and doesn’t feel as if God doesn’t listen to her. Shug tells her that God is always with her and is always listening. Nettie confess to Corrine that she is the children’s aunt and wants to be apart of their lives. She doesn’t want her to be around her kids because she isn’t the greatest influence on children.
I didn’t understand why she didn’t want Nettie to be apart of their lives. Throughout the novel, Nettie hasn’t been mentioned much. Does this means that she is moved away from all her family?
