In Animal Farm by George Orwell animals are unaware of what is happening and they just go along with what the leader shays. If citizens are not aware of what is happening, corruption can take over a vision of a better society because the lack of education of the citizens, rules, and customs. The animals don't have the greatest education considering they can't get passed the letter "D" in the alphabet. Since they don't have the greatest education they do not question what Napoleon has to say.
