Napoleon Bonaparte. One of the names that modern society regards with respect, honor, and a positive connotation. Although many do not know much about the little man, they assume his greatness, based on popular belief. Napoleon was a great military ruler and conqueror - no doubt about it - and he may have originally wanted peace, and accord in france, but his ways of ruling soon led astray, as he became hungrier and hungrier for power. He exerted his force in unreasonable ways towards the end of his rule, as he craved more of what he already had in abundance, land and power. “Napoleon regarded the whole world as a theatre [...] To him, Europe was a building site in which he was demolition expert, architect, and stonemason”(Joffrin 15). Napoleon regarded himself as superior compared to the french citizens, and believed he had the right, and power to control and gain more land and resources, which ultimately became too much for him to handle.
