Society tells people that we are all equal and have the same opportunities, but this is untrue, just as it was when Dr. King was fighting for equal rights. I, as a young mother, have experienced discrimination. Older people, especially doctors, discriminate against my opinions because I am young. Another example of discrimination still occurring is when police officers profile a young black man walking around at night as a burglar. People are still facing discrimination today, whether it be by age, sex, or race, yet society does not see this. In ignoring these things, we are allowing inequality to creep back into our world. Kings life time, we are all one people. If police beat a man, for no reason, the officer should face charges, not the innocent man being beat. The way the government handles justice needs to change.
