Good morning 10en6 and mr williams,today i am here to talk to you about shakespeare's plays and how they are still relevant and universal in today's society. This is in relation to the play and film versions of macbeth, macbeth was a play that way performed in the 1606 which was adapted into a film version directed by geoffrey wright in 2006. We have been analyzing macbeth in class in class. I will be talking about 3 different scenes but they are all in relation to the universal theme of fate vs freewill the three scenes i will be analysing for you are: macbeth meeting the weird sisters, macbeth killing king duncan, and lady macbeth sleepwalking.
Act 1 scene 3 is where macbeth meets the weird sisters in the play he meets them ‘in a heath” there is thunder and lighting which shows pathetic fallacy they also say “ fair is foul, foul is fair” whereas in the film he meets them in a club called cawdor where he is intoxicated with drugs and alcohol after a gunfight the witches tell him that he will become king this is his free will then he take part in his actions and can not enjoy this and that is fate will.this part is significant to the gunpowder plot where there was a failed assassination of king james the first king of england by a group of …show more content…
This murder was premeditated as she drugged the guards before the deed was done.Lady macbeth shows free will when she takes the dagger and puts the blood of king duncan on the guards and put the dagger on one of the guards lap, fate comes into play when lady macbeth released the deed she had done and didn't want to take the responsibility for planting the murder on the guards. This can come into relation when you have the guilt of doing something but not ready to take acceptance of it because you know of the
