After King Duncan decides to execute the traitor, he says:”what he hath lost, noble Macbeth hath won.”(page 14) This quote illustrates that Macbeth has just won the trust from the king, and a bright future is waiting for him. By that time, Macbeth could not believe that he can be the Thane of Cawdor, let alone be the king. When the witches tell Macbeth he would be the Thane of Cawdor, he answers:”But how of Cawdor? The thane of Cawdor lives,/A prosperous gentleman, and to be king/Stands not within the prospect of belief,/No more than to be Cawdor.”(page 18) He could not believe that he…

Macbeth was encouraged greatly by his wife, but the idea to “remove” the king had not been far from his mind even before saying a word to her. When Ross came back to inform the King about the battle, he spoke about how Macbeth fought “Point against point, rebellious arm 'gainst arm, curbing his lavish spirit; and to conclude, the victory fell on us” (Macbeth, Shakespeare Act 1, Scene 2). This indicated how well Macbeth fought for his ruler's purpose, he was steadfast, and he gave all that he had for Duncan's cause. Later on King Duncan named Macbeth, The Thane of Cawdor. The conceding of the title had originated from Macbeth’s dependability, diligent work, and genuine goodness to the ruler. Macbeth later talked about his duties, our obligations are to your throne and state kids and servantsby doing everything safe toward your adoration and honor. In this section Macbeth again demonstrated his loyalty and goodness to the ruler. This was a tribute of treating individuals well. When Duncan designated Macbeth the Thane of Cawdor, he said, “From henceforth to Iverness and tie us further to you." That quote shows that since Macbeth was so great to the ruler, the lord was to go to a gathering in Macbeth’s name, a significant privilege. All through the starting, Macbeth was a decent character all…

The becoming of Macbeth as the Thane of Cawdor was led by him taking charge of his own fate. “For Brave Macbeth–Well he deserves that name–Disdaining fortune, with his brandish’d steel, which smoked with bloody execution, Like valour’s minion carved out his passage” (Shakespeare I.II pg. 2). The sergeant explains that Macbeth deserves to be the Thane of Cawdor because he was the one who killed the traitor Macdonwald. This act that made Macbeth worthy of gaining this title was all controlled by Macbeth’s own jurisdiction. Banquo’s fate of being murdered by Macbeth was also determined by Macbeth. “To be thus is nothing; But to be safely thus: our fears in Banquo Stick deep” (Shakespeare III.I pg. 34). Macbeth explains that after he murdered Duncan and became king, the only one threatening his kingship was Banquo. His reasoning for Banquo’s threat is that “To make them kings, the seed of Banquo Kings! Rather than so, come, fate, into the list, and champion me to the utterance” (Shakespeare III.I pg 35). Macbeth reasons that Banquo is a threat to him because his sons are destined to become kings. This subsequently caused Macbeth to trust his impulses which were to murder Banquo because he felt that Banquo threatens his kingship. Macbeth out of fear would do anything to protect his…

In the play, Macbeth starts the story out as a noble war hero. He was identified as an individual that people trusted and depended on. He was then awarded ‘Thane of Cawdor ’ for his heroic and outstanding deeds on the battlefield. The major turning point in Macbeth's story was when the three witches arrived and predicted his future. They announced that Macbeth would bequeath the throne. Startled by this sudden prediction, Macbeth decided to ignore the witches and leave his future to fate. That stance was short lived due to Lady Macbeth's persuasive methods and a lack of will on Macbeth’s part. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth came to a unified decision to kill the king to obtain the throne. This one event was the catalyst that completely changed the…

This starts of when Macbeth receives the title Thane of Cawdor and ends when Macbeth kills King Duncan. An example of this is shown in act 1 scene 2 63 to 66, ‘No more that thane of Cawdor shall deceive Our bosom interest: go pronounce his present death, And with his former title greet Macbeth.’ Spoken by the king this line states that the old title that Macbeth has is now dead and he will receive his new title to replace it. An example of the relationship ending is ‘Look like the time. Bear welcome in your eye, your hand, your tongue. The plot starts when he tells King Duncan that the thane of Cawdor has betrayed him and fought on the kerns and gallowglasses side. Ross reports, "assisted by the most disloyal traitor, the thane of Cawdor, began a dismal conflict"(I,II,52). Not only did he report the thane’s betrayal, but also reports on Macbeth’s heroism. He compared Macbeth’s bravery with that of the goddess of war 's husband 'Bellona 's bridegroom '. He credits him completely for their victory and praises him lavishly. Ross 's description of Macbeth motivates King Duncan to kill the current thane and give the title of 'Thane of Cawdor ' to Macbeth by saying "go pronounce his present death and with his former title greet Macbeth."(I,II,64). Ross does not only deliver messages; he also gives Macbeth the clothing needed for his position as the thane of Cawdor. If it were not for Ross’s report to the King, Macbeth would probably not even be considered for the title; thus, not fulfilling the prophecy that started it all. Also, Ross seems to know about everything that is going on in the play and plays the messenger for everyone throughout the play. For example, Ross tells Lady Macduff that Macduff has left to England, and that they are also in danger. Then, after the murderers killed Lady Macduff and her son, Ross goes to England to tell Macduff. Similarly, he tells Old Siward that his son has died. Furthermore, in…
