Love is a feeling that many people fail to understand. The play Macbeth is a great example of this, and is portrayed through the feelings that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth share with one another. Lady Macbeth does not truly love Macbeth but is with him for his handiness , and blindness to being manipulated and persuaded. Lady Macbeth is constantly manipulating him, constantly putting his life in danger, and always emotionally hurting him for her own selfish reasons.
Lady Macbeth is known to be an intelligent woman amd in this play, she manipulates and uses Macbeth for the relations he has with other people. For instance, When Lady Macbeth says, “look like the time; bear welcome in your eyes; your hand, your tongue. Look like the innocent flower, but/ be the serpent under it.” She is telling her husband that he should become a violent person, and that he should change the way he acts, and his relationship with Duncan. No loving wife would ever judge their spouse or try to change them. This is because they like them the way that they are and have married them based on their personality if it is actually true love, which it is not since she is trying to change him. However, he would not have had this fear if Lady Macbeth did not make him kill many people for her own selfish reason. This shows that Lady Macbeth does not truly love him because a real mate would never want to verbally abuse their other mate to a point where they feel as if they are not good enough to be what they are. However, Macbeth has shown that he is what Lady Macbeth thinks a “man” is by killing many people and living to tell the tale.
