Louis-Auguste was the third son of Louis-Ferdinand. Throughout his childhood, he demonstrated above average intelligence. He was said to enjoy science, geography, and history. Early on he became a strong believer in orthodox Catholicism. Orthodox Catholicism is a catholic person who strictly follows every rule and belief. The revolutionaries called for elections to a national convention. The convention was held in September. The revolutionaries abolished the monarchy and established a republic government. Incriminating documents involving Louis, were found later on. They put him on trial for this on December 11. Louis was aloud a lawyer but most representatives had already dictated that he was guilty of high treason. After a vote, he was sentenced to death. He was sentenced to die January 21. It is said that he had his dignity and pride as he walked to the guillotine.
Although Louis XVI was childish, decisive, and depressed, he was also hardworking and intelligent. He showed a strong will to make compromises. Many histories thought he might have survived if he hadn't tried to flee in 1792. The French Revolutions most dramatic moments was his death.
