In Othello, William Shakespeare portrays Iago as deceitful. This is shown when he tries to control Roderigo in the play. He does this in the first few lines so we can tell that Iago is a quiet shady dude. In Iago’s first lines he says “I am not what I am ”(Passage 1). As it’s clear to say that Iago is a very shady guy. It’s means that Iago is a very controlling dude that can easily manipulate a person to do and say whatever he wants. This shows that Iago is a power hungry and is a very controlling guy in Othello. He is also the type of guy that can easily manipulate person that can manipulate anyone he wishes. This also makes him a snake and a very dangerous person.
