The Villain
Hamlet is usually not the one view as a evil person. But actually, he is more likely to be viewed as a very honorable young prince. By the end of Hamlet, when Fortinbras found out the true story from Horatio, he says that, “Bear Hamlet, like a soldier, to the stage, For he was likely, had he been put on,To have proved most royal” (5.2 362-64). Fortinbras praise Hamlet as a really good man who has shown his value and courage. Although, watching Hamlet all the way through the play, it is obvious to question just how good he really was, and it is not difficult to still point out his bad actions. Whether or not Hamlet was good person with respectable intentions in the beginning of the play, by the end of the story he turns into an villain.
Claudius is look at as a really bad person in Hamlet. But, counting the amount of people murdered, Hamlet wins by far. Claudius barely murder one person by his own hand. But when talking about Hamlet’s actions, he’s killed three people with his sword and organize more killings for the execution of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Hamlet’s treatment of Ophelia is not the conduct of a noble gentleman. If Hamlet was trying to protect Ophelia from the complete plan of murder, his talk with her shows lack of consideration. Some would say that he treats her poorly. He also could have been making the whole thing up when he said that, but a good person would have never say such rude things. Hamlet continue going with his brutality and says “Get thee to a nunnery” (3.1.119). He is fully striking Ophelia from all angles. He is decreasing her status as a woman.
