As a member of the team I was involved in the initial grocery store scavenger hunt. All group members including myself worked together in selecting 5 foods within each of the categories. Once all foods were selected it was my responsibility to calculate unit pricing and price per calorie for fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, butter, margarines, cheeses, and condiments. It was also my responsibility to research unit pricing. I obtain information from all group members and wrote our findings in question 2. I participated in group meetings; if I was not able to be physically present I stayed in contact via text, voice and email. I kept good communication with group and attended all group meetings to put assignment together and to ensure it was grammar free and that it flowed well before printing it out to turn in the following day. I calculated the unit prices and price per calories for the 25 food items I was assigned as my contribution. I filled the aisle, shelf, and nutritional claim boxes on the handout for each of my 25 products I was assigned. One of my responsibilities included going to the grocery store and looking for the grocery store items. My group came to a decision that we would sprit up the work and every group member was assigned an equal amount of sections to cover. The sections that I covered included the oils, fruits, canned vegetables, milk and dairy alternatives, and breakfast cereals. I had a total of 24 food items that I was responsible for finding and calculating the equations and finding additional information that was required by the assignment. Additionally, within the assignment my responsibility was to answer: Is there a difference in pricing between low- nutrient-density vs. high-density foods? I answered the question by researching several journal articles and reporting my finding in our group summary. After I completed my assigned sections, I helped with the editing and the sentence structure throughout our group summary. I also created the format of our assignment, the cover page and a shared file where my group members were able to simultaneously work on the assignment.
