I disagree with the article because I thought that The Great Gatsby was fine just the way it is . Even though it may have some factual, external and internal errors, those errors make the book it is today. Many people love this book and look past its imperfections and see the beauty and true meaning hidden in the context of the book.

They hide themselves from society and tend not to show their true selves.The darkening streets to me represent humanity’s dark secrets and how people hide in the shadows, waiting to attack someone at their weakest moment. Also, the green light in this quote symbolizes society’s dreams and how they seem impossible to reach. This quote also represents a topic seen in the book The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald which is the corruption of the American Dream. It connects to this because it shows how society will always try to achieve their dreams, even if it means that have to “play dirty” and use others in order to achieve their life-long dream. The American Dream is to be wealthy and many people will take advantage of others for their own selfish
