Federalism helps the United States run more efficiently and effectively. Federalism is a system of government where power is shared between the state and national governments. Federalism has been around since the founding of America, America still uses federalism today just not the same form of federalism as it used to be. Today America uses a type of federalism called cooperative federalism, which mixes the powers of the state and national governments to so they can perform more effectively instead of just being separate entities so therefore, federalism is a very effective form of government. Federalism works because it uses separation of powers to insure that the government’s powers are shared equally between 3 branches of government.
