Christopher Columbus is a Portuguese explorer and navigator. In 1492, Christopher Columbus first sailed to find a western route to Asia. He landed on an island near cuba, which he named San Salvador. America should not celebrate COLUMBUS DAY.

Theres many reasons why columbus day should not be a holiday and celebrated because he was cruel and selfish. Christopher Columbus was selfish because natives destroyed within two generations and not one of them was converted to the catholic faith, he forced people collect gold for him if they did not he would cut off their hands and he did not discover america, he contributed important knowledge to the europe of the time.

Also Christopher Columbus was very cruel because he punished minor offenses
