Before Christopher Columbus was an explorer, a theory is that Christopher may have been Jewish and people who were jewish were expelled from Spain. The Santa Maria, The Pinta, and The Nina. Columbus went there to find an all water route to Asia. On October 12, More than 2 months later, Columbus landed on an Island in the bahamas that he called San Salvador. He sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to try and find a direct Water route to India to trade spices, But he never did find a direct route there. Although he didn’t know it, He still believed that he had found some uncharted islands near Japan and China, and that he needed to keep exploring. His first trip didn’t go very well because he lost one of his ships and didn’t bring back much Gold or other valuable items. He did however bring back a handful of natives.
