I believed Chris McCandless was not selfish for disappearing without telling no one about what he was thinking of doing or how he wanted to live his life. I chose this quote because Chris felt alone that no one understand his mindset, how he saw things, he didn't need wealth. Just to be free, and no one understood him, where he felt alone and abandoned. McCandless. If you feel you need to escape, then you can do whatever you feel like, it’s your life. Therefor I am Team McCandless, i believe we all have freedom to get away from people and society.
First, I thinks he’s a brave for having the courage to leave everyone behind to pursue his desires. McCandless’ parents would not understand their son, what he was going through.The only way for Chris to get away, was to go off radar, for no one can bother him on his journey to Alaska. In the book we find out that he wanted to get away from them because his dad had another family, which had upset him. In the book Into the Wild the author writes how McCandless just left college and his money to live out in the wild. Also, McCandless had wrote a letter and it said “And then,once the time is right, with one abrupt, swift action I’m going to divorce them as my parents once and for all and never speak to either of those idiots as long as I live”.
