How Is Chris Mccandless Crazy

Since the book “Into the Wild” was published there has been much debate if the books main character Chris McCandles was crazy or not. Although Chris decision to get up and leave his normal life is a bit abnormal it doesn’t mean it made him completely mad. Chris was committed to what his heart desired and he was willing to do anything to get what he wanted. Chris McCandless was a bright young man who had a bright future ahead of him once he was finished with school. Almost everyone saw Chris growing up and being successful. Chris on the other hand had a different plan for his future. Chris wanted to do what he wanted and wouldn’t let anyone else tell him otherwise. Chris’s goal was to reach the Alaska wilderness and he didn’t want anything else except that. Everyone has their own personal goals and Chris’s goal was to live his live how he aspired and he shouldn’t be looked at as a lunatic for trying to obtain it. On his journey, Chris encountered many hardships and challenges throughout his voyage. Chris had so much dedication and bravery he never once wanted to back down and abandon his dream of reaching Alaska. People such as Jan Burres, Bob Burres, and Ronald Franz were lucky enough to meet Chris before his death. Jan, Bob, and Ronald all became friends with Chris and he changed their lives as much as they changed his. They viewed Chris as a friend and daring young man but none of them viewed him as crazy or dumb. After they found out what his ambition was they did not judge him because, they knew he wasn’t going to stop until he obtained it. They all offered him shelter, food, and supplies and treated him like a normal person. Readers of the book should look at Chris like the brave, young, and caring man Jan, Bob, and Ronald viewed
