The person that I've read about who had to overcome something is a girl named Sheridan in the book Locker 572 By: L.T KoDZo. She finds a journal after being assigned to a new locker, locker 572. The journal belonged to a girl named Ribbon and its basically an autobiography and as Sheridan reads she finds out that Ribbon was bullied and committed suicide because of it. Over all, bullying is increasing and so is the amount of suicide among teens. Kathy Shaidle’s article “In Defense of Bullying” states that bullying is good on the development of youth to strive for more. That not many adolescence kill themselves due to bullying and anti-bullying actually is just creating more bullies. This outlook on bullying is ignoring that there has been a massive increase in self-harm amongst teenagers, why teens have been resorting to self-harm, how bullying actually affects lives, and how suicide and depression have become more widespread among adolescence. I learned that Rumer Willis was made fun of as a child. The star that went on Dancing with the Stars talked about how she was bullied on the show. Rumer told them that they called her “buttaface” and said that she looked like a man.
