Mockingbird characters in TKAMB

“Mockingbird” characters are characters who don't hurt people they just give beauty, they are in this world to help or to do the jobs nobody else has the emotional strength to do. Examples of mockingbird characters are Arthur (Boo) radley, Mayella Ewell, and Tom Robinson.
One of the biggest and most obvious mockingbird characters is boo radley. He did stab his father but it was obviously not out of anger maybe it was out of fear or it might have even been an accident. Then he was locked away for so many years for something that didn't condone the stigma and punishment he received. He was also a very sick man he was locked away for so long he doesn't know how to communicate with others. But

"Against the fence, in a line, were six chipped-enamel slop jars holding brilliant red geraniums, cared for as tenderly as if they belonged to Miss Maudie Atkinson, had Miss Maudie deigned to permit a geranium on her premises. I felt right sorry for her, she seemed to try more'n the rest of 'em-"
"You felt sorry for her, you felt sorry for her?" Mr. Gilmer seemed ready to rise to the ceiling.
The witness realized his mistake and shifted uncomfortably in the chair. But the damage was done. Below us, nobody liked Tom Robinson's answer. Mr. Gilmer paused a long time to let it sink in. (19. 124-127) He felt sorry for a white women and that was unheard of in that day so he was punished for it. All he did was help mayella with chores she needed done then she sexually assaulted him and then he was killed for it. He was described as being sweet and kind and he would never do something like that . But racism and prejudice caused a jury of all white males to convict Tom of something he never did.
Mockingbird characters are characters who only help people. “Remember it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.” That was the only time I ever heard Atticus say it was a sin to do something, and I asked Miss Maudie about it.
“Your father’s right,” she said. “Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy . . . but sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.” That's why I believe Boo Radley, Mayella Ewell, and Tom Robinson are mockingbird characters. They don't hurt people and they were beautiful
