Atticus Finch Atticus Finch a loyal white man that is defending a colored man. Atticus was a white lawyer that is defending a black man for a something he didn't do. As Tom Robinson trial drew closer to time the more the town of maycomb didn't like Atticus. The town of Maycomb became to not like Atticus but still Respected him because they thought it was wrong for him to defend an African American. Atticus went ahead and done what he thought was right because he knew that if he didn't he would have a guilty conscience. Many people were against atticus but they still respected him because he was the only good lawyer they had. Mr.Finch seems to be a Respectful, Loyal, and a Family Man.
Atticus Finch is a Respectful man he stuck by Tom Robinson side even when the town was against him. He was also very respectful when he was talking to mayella on the stand he knew that it was going to be hard so he told her that if she didn't want to answer the question that was fine.Atticus knew that Mayella was sticking up for her dad but Atticus just went on and asked questions and waited patiently for her to answer. Not only was he being towards a colored man but also to the colored mans family. After the trial and they found Tom Robinson “guilty” the family was shocked and very disappointed because they knew he was innocent. Tom went and told them that he was truly sorry and that he was not finished looking for the proof that he was innocent and the real person that done this will be caught soon. "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view - until you climb into his skin and walk around in it." (chapter 3) This shows that Atticus is a loyal man that he is going to know all their is about the person before he just acts like he know
