How I Learned To Read

Trying to truly remember when I learned to read is kind of difficult especially starting at very young age. I do remember my grandmother telling me that my reading skills were very good compared to others who started out like I did. When my siblings heard about how good my reading skills were, they encouraged me to read more books so I could get more practice. Since I was always around my grandmother, reading had become interesting and I somehow found myself wanting to read every chance I got.
Learning how to read was important to me. I was happy that I knew how to say words, read them, and know exactly what they meant instead of just looking at pictures. When I got home from school, I could not wait to get home to tell my mother the new

My kindergarten and 1st grade teachers taught me the words that were going to be needed throughout my vocabulary and expressed how reading can be engaging and primary. My mother would always read me different stories that inspired me no matter what kind they were. Her stories taught me the importance of life and things that would apply later on down in life. She made reading so fun that I always looked forward to learning how to read because her stories would add so much to my life.
In kindergarten and first grade, my teacher Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Brown made reading exciting. They always called on me to read because they both knew how fluently my reading was. They would always find a way to make reading one of the most important things for the day. In the classrooms there were all kinds of books, books with colorful pictures, books with lots of words, and some with fewer words. One way she made reading fun was she let us lay down on the floor, grab a few pillows, have reading time and Whoever read good she would let us get a prize from the treasure chest. Everyone in the classroom loved reading because of the prizes we were

Literacy Narrative The earliest memory I have of reading is with my grandmother at her house. When I was a toddler, she would read to me every time I spent the night with her. My favorite book for her to read to me was Three Little Kittens by Paul Galdone. I 'm not too sure why this was my favorite book, but my grandmother says that I "insisted on having it read to me" every single time I was with her. She would also read the Bible to me, which was quite confusing and complicated for a child to comprehend, but she explained the stories to me in a child-like format.…

The most vivid memory I have of reading is when I was in third grade, my teacher use to read books to us at the end of everyday. However, one day she took us to the library and told us to pick out a book to read on our own. The library was set up to where each grade level had their own books so kids were encouraged to pick books that weren't to difficult for them to read. I wanted to prove that i could read a higher level book because I have dyslexia and other kids thought it was funny when I would mess up reading out loud in class or when I wrote papers. Therefore, I went to the fifth grade book cases and picked the biggest book I could find which was the original The Lighting Thief , before it got popular and they changed details in the book.…
