What Being Healthy Means To Me

How Healthy Am I? I am Aashrita Pillutla, and I am relatively healthy. On a scale of overall healthiness from one to ten, I would put myself at a level 6. To me, being healthy means more than just being physically fit. It means being active, eating well and being mentally well to be a healthy and happy person overall.
In terms of physical ability in relation to health, I am far from athlete level, however, I can climb a set of stairs or do some jogging and stretching without becoming breathless. I do not make it a point to exercise any certain amount over the course of the week and the bulk of my physical activity outside of gym class comes from walks in my neighbourhood, occasionally going to the gym with my mother and outdoor activities

Breakfast for me typically consists of frosted flakes cereal or pancakes. On weekdays for lunch I usually have a sandwich and for dinner I eat rice with any curry that my mother makes. While I do eat relatively unhealthy snacks often, I do try and incorporate as many fruits and vegetables as I can into my diet. I eat things like broccoli, berries, potatoes and various summer fruits. I also limit the amount of fast food I eat, only eating out three or four times a month. As for what I drink, I do not consume much soda, and I typically only drink water or milk and the occasional glass of fruit juice. The amount of water I drink daily typically varies from seven to ten cups. I also do not consume alcohol, smoke cigarettes or use any recreational drugs, meaning I allow my body and brain to develop properly. All things considered, I believe I am relatively healthy, though I could do better, in terms of healthiness in relation to what I eat and …show more content…
Personally, I believe I am quite mentally healthy as I am happy with myself as a person, I have good emotional intelligence and I am surrounded by good people who help maintain my mental health. Mental wellness is probably the area of healthiness where I feel I do the best. I understand when I make mistakes and I am able to deal with things I do in a calm way and not take it out on myself, meaning I have healthy self esteem and am aware of how good I am and can be as a person. I also believe that I have a good ability to manage interpersonal relationships with family and friends and know when negativity outweighs positivity and what to do about it, so that the relationships in my life are healthy for me. Finally, I am surrounded by good people who help me make good choices in school, at home and in life. Mental wellness and health is very important to me and it is the area of health that I work hardest to keep up so in this area, I believe I am considerably healthy.
In the grand scheme of things, my self-declared 6.0 level of healthiness is all down to me and it is my choice to improve it. I do not believe I am the healthiest person of all and I know that I am not the least healthy either. My healthiness is about in the middle of the health spectrum thanks to what I eat, what I do, and how I keep my mind. I am looking to improve my healthiness; however, I do not believe it is

He came to the college to answer any questions we had regarding the 7 dimensions of wellness, such as what John does to balance his work and personal life, how he gets over stress from his work life, what he does to stay in shape, some challenges he has overcome, what he does to get along with people in the workplace, as well as how important it is to trust your partner. He has been working for the agency for 5 years now, and he is now working in the traffic section. I chose to interview John because he has had several years of experience in the field of public safety.…

The health assessment shows that I am healthy and aware of the importance of my behaviors, so I think I need to keep it up. For physical health, I engage in jogging every day for about an hour, 30 minutes after lunch and 30 minutes after dinner. I usually do that 5-6 times a week, and I also guarantee that I sleep at least 8 hours every day. I always check the clock before I sleep and I give myself 9 hours 30 minutes total on the bed. 30 to 45 minutes for relaxing and about 10-15 minutes for myself to ponder and recognize what to do in a day when I get up.…

Health Promotion Concepts Define concepts Health Defining the word and meaning of health can be both complex and challenging. The concept that health is a state of being without disease or illness does not encompass all the variables that make up an individual’s “health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) “health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity” (1948). Well-being: Health can be seen as a person’s overall wellbeing.…

“Health” is something that I struggle to define. I don’t always think that I am a healthy person according to society’s standards; however, I look like I am because I fall into the category of “a “slothful [person] who happen[s] to be thin” that Kathleen Lebesco mentions in “Fat Panic and the New Morality,” (75). Some foods are nutritious and needed by our bodies. We occasionally indulge in things that make us feel good like chocolate, ice cream, or wine. People must find the right mix of nutritious and indulgences for their bodies to find their version of health.…

Many people see health in different ways, this essay will look at two concepts of health, the biomedical and the social medical, and evaluate them. This will try to give a more rounded look at the approaches, the problems they can show and the things that are not taken into consideration. To be able to do this we first need to be able to define what ‘health’ is. This term can be described in many ways; the English dictionary defines health as “the general condition of the body or mind with reference to soundness and vigour:” (oxford English dictionary……….). This is a vague definition to an overall understanding of what people believe to be healthy.…
