How Having A Mom Changed My Life

Decent Essays
When I was a child I had to help out my mother with my other siblings. I didn't have time to play with friends or go overnight parties. Every time my friend ReRe would come to a house and ask if I could come out and play. I had to reply no because I had to watch my sisters'. She would come every day to see if I could come out. So one day she just stops coming by the house. I was very disappointed that I couldn't play out with my friends.

My responsibilities were to feed my sisters' and get them dressed to do their hair, help them with their homework. Make sure that dinner was ready at 6:30 and after they finished their meals. I had to wash the dishes and clean up then I had to make sure my sisters' took a bath and got ready for bed.

Being a mother has given me a better outlook on things. I wanted her to have a good childhood giving all the love and support , time and let her enjoy being a kid. Being independent, wanting a place of my own so that I can take care of my child. After I graduated from high school I started looking for work. My first job was at a plant called Perdue Farms I had another little one I was determined that I wanted to leave my mother house and have a place of my own. After two years of working at the plant, I decided it was time for a change. I wanted my own place and I couldn't keep taking care of my mother and sisters' any longer.

When I moved out I found another job closer where I relocated. The plant was called Sara Lee, later down the road, I had another baby. So I knew my finances had to change so applied for another job position as a Teacher Assistant. I've been working there for four years and I enjoy it. I have grown up in so many ways learning to be independent I make wiser decisions. Even though I left my mother and sisters' and having my own little family. I haven't forgotten about my mom I still go and see her when
