Castles architecture has changed quite a lot since they were first built. When castles were first built, they were made of wood. This was soon changed to stone around 1100 c.e. because of the wood being a fire hazard. The wood was a fire hazard because of the wood being able to catch fire easily. They switched to stone mainly because of its durability. This made the castles stronger and mightier. Some walls were up to 20 ft. thick. Many or most castles were built to defend a specific location.
Who lived in a castle you may ask, well this is who lived in a castle: Kings/Queens, Lords/Ladies, Princes/Princesses, and staff. The staff consisted of important officials, constables, servants, cooks, craftsmen, and spinners. The servants took care of everyday tasks around the castle. I chose this because I like castles and I’ve always wanted to make a castle for a project so when I had the opportunity to build one, I used it. I made my castle out of cardboard, construction paper, shoelaces, and tape. I made my castle out of cardboard and then put construction paper to cover it. I used the shoelaces to make a drawbridge. My castle isn’t the best castle but it’s something. I originally wanted to make a bigger castle but I didn’t have enough time. If I wouldn’t have waited last minute I could’ve made a better castle. I did put thought and effort into this project. I am happy that I at least I’m turning something
