A book that has impacted me significantly was Of Mice and Men by, John Steinbeck; moreover, realizing that there is more to life than just money is one way this book impacted me. “ A guy needs somebody to be near him. A guy goes nuts if he ain’t got nobody. Don’t make no difference who the guy is, long’s he’s with you. I tell ya, I tell ya a guy gets to lonely an’ he gets sick,” (Steinbeck). This book taught me that everyone needs a friend to lean on in life; therefore, I have learned to make some lifelong friendships in high school. Having vast dreams isn’t always so substandard; in fact, vast dreams make someone strive to be better. Once someone gets to the stage that they can read on their own, they discover genres that appeal to their persona, that they enjoy reading. As they get older, they realize that there are more to books than just the words on the page; in fact, there are hidden meanings and life lessons that someone can easily take away from reading in general. Books are a great way to get away from the world for a little while, and just dive into the world that the book will propel you in. if one were not to read books, they would not get to learn all the lessons to be learned that books can teach someone though out the many stages of ones
