The author provides a historical review of how rapidly the internet and social media has changed over time. The essays within this book focus on the role that technology plays in shaping a person’s life in terms of communication, as well as how brain structure can be affected. While diverse and realistic viewpoints of social media are presented, many of the essays are outdated and include information that no longer applies to society’s current digital age. This reference is useful for my research topic, because it includes many scholarly articles that not only address how technology can affect society and an individual, but also provides varying opinions that support or argue against the topic.
