Queen Elizabeth
Things unexpected can happen at anytime, things that could change every part of a person’s life. Being coronated as The Queen of England makes for a very different life than any other young woman’s. Queen Elizabeth’s life changed tremendously and all relationships and areas of life would never be the same again. Elizabeth was born to George VI and soon to be Queen Elizabeth I and before Elizabeth’s father became king, life was much different. Elizabeth was not a straight heir of the throne, but they had to go to seventeen Bruton Street in Mayfair, where she was supposed to be born. The day of Elizabeth’s arrival, April twenty-first, in the year of nineteen twenty-six, Britian was very close to the beginning of a strike. The mining companies were under tremendous amounts of pressure, and multiple issues were taking place postwar (Mason).
As she grew up, Elizabeth lived a very normal life. Unlike what one would assume, Elizabeth was not left to play only with children of aristocratic heritage, but with children of doctors and business men. She and her …show more content…
In the summer of nineteen forty-six, Philip proposed to Elizabeth, and she, without discussing anything with her parents, said yes (Smith). The King was worried about what people would think of a Greek Prince as a husband for a heir of the throne of England. He was a little irritated over Philip’s manners, as well (Dockerman). The King wanted them to wait about a year to make sure it was right (Smith). After about a year, in the fall, on November twentieth of the year nineteen forty-seven, Philip and Elizabeth got married (Biography.com Editors). Philip was a very supporting husband to Elizabeth, even though, much to his chagrin, the government said he had to stand behind her in an act of respect to the throne
