My Oral Communication Analysis

Everyone has their own ways of communication, whether it be a different language, different accent, or even different word choices. In this paper I will be analyzing the ways in which my communication has developed in the past and most likely will be developing in the future. Along with this I will be comparing the way I communicate as opposed to others, specifically in reference to content, form and, use.
The ways of my communication are changing everyday for many different reasons. The form of my communication has changed in the last five years due to the fact that in that time I have become part of three different social media sites. These include Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat, because of this I have been able to keep in touch with a larger number of people without any oral communication. This lack of speech or oral communication is becoming a growing trend in society today. This is causing a negative form of receptive communication due to a lack of articulation, pitch, and rate. This helped develop my oral communication skills in different ways than I ever have before. Throughout this experiences I learned how to use suprasegmental features to capture someone 's attention and clearly state a point. Learning the importance of these suprasegmental features has changed the ways in which I communicate greatly. Throughout DECA I also learned that pragmatics are very important and differ depending on the situation you are in. I now vary the ways I communicate depending on the situation. An example of this is that my pragmatics would differ greatly if I was with my friends as opposed to being in a business situation.
