There are a many things that have to be done before, during, and after all the guest arrive at the Cook Coffeehouse. Before all of the customers arrive Eliza has to make all of the food. She would sometimes make her specialty, gingerbread, and then the room would smell like nutmeg and cinnamon. Matilda would make sure that the garden was good. She watered the plants and picked the ones that were ready to be picked. Then during the day Matilda would serve the guests. Then once they were done with their dishes she would take them back to the kitchen. Eliza would make sure that there were no messes and also that there was still enough food to go around. Once the Cook Coffeehouse closed They would clean up the coffee shop. They would sweep, clean off the tables, and make sure …show more content…
She now is running the Cook Coffeehouse and doesn’t need to be told to get up or do her chores. Another way she has changed she is now more independent. Matilda will now do more things on her own and doesn’t have to have someone helping her all the time. Also Matilda now is like her mother. She is stronger as a person. She is also thinner than she was at the beginning of the story. Matilda has changed from the dependent girl at the beginning of the story.
In the story Matilda faces many dangers that include risk of getting the disease, starvation, robbery, and assault. A dramatic incident which Matilda faced one of these dangers was when she and her grandfather were thrown off the wagon. Since the farmers took all of their food with them, Matilda and Grandfather were going to starve. Grandfather taught her some soldier tricks. She found water by looking for willow trees. Then she was looking for supper and she saw raspberries and that means that rabbits are near.
Matilda’s perfect day would be a day out in Philadelphia with her family. She likes to be out in the city. Since Matilda love sweet, she would eat lots of
