How has the development of the various types of electronic flip flops changed throughout the years? What are the components that make up the combination of electronic flip flops and how has it impacted our lives in the way we use technology? On June 21, 1918, the first form of electronic flip flops was invented by two British physicists as well as professors known as William Henry Eccles in addition to Frank Wilfred Jordan. The first type was called the Eccles-Jordan Trigger Circuit, which was mostly composed of two common active elements known as vacuum tubes. William Henry Eccles in addition to Frank Wilfred Jordan thought that by inventing electronic flip flops it would help to improve in the making of electrical circuits when also thinking about making a progress in the way we use telecommunications. …show more content…
These various types of electronic flip flops were first introduced by a computer design course at UCLA by Montgomery Phister. Another important person in the history of electronic flip flops was known as Dr. Eldred Nelson, which came upon in the introduction of the most commonly known JK Flip Flop. The foundation of the name JK Flip Flop was described in more detailed by P. L. Lindley, a JPL engineer during June 13, 1968.
