The Athletic Club of Philadelphia plays baseball the way it was played in the 18th century. The club has pride for their historical accuracy. The participants drink from canteens, drink beer made with an old recipe and keep their bats in a barrel. Also, the rules are from the 1800’s. Unlike today’s baseball, the fielders in the 18th century could catch a ball after one bounce and it would count as an out. The teams today that replicate the old form of baseball use vintage rulebooks from the 18th century. The equipment and uniforms are from that time.
