The kid’s view of Atticus has changed dramatically over the last section. He originally embarrassed Scout and Jem. They thought he was not that manly. Everybody else’s dad went hunting and fishing, and just loved being in the woods, that is not Atticus. Also, they perceived him to be boring. He would always be inside reading and that was all. Another way they thought of him is that he was inactive. The only game he would play is keep-away with a football and when Scout wanted to play tackle football his excuse would always be that he was too old. But, they ended up realizing how he was not so boring. They learned that when he was reading he was learning and he is actually extremely educated.
