Food waste is one thing that every individual would consider as a global shame, especially in countries where there are millions of people starving. People worldwide know that reducing the amount of global food waste could help the environment. Kelvin Cheung a social entrepreneur decided to put matters in his own hands and take action. With his love for food and growing communities, he founded FoodCycle in 2009. This organization unites communities together to make sure no food is wasted. FoodCycle's mission is to serve enjoyable meals for people at risk of food poverty in their local communities. This organization also involves many people with volunteers who interact with each other and beneficiaries. FoodCycle currently is expanding from the UK while building over 50 partnerships worldwide. FoodCycle is low maintenance, low cost and easy to start in any community, which is why the potential is very high for a widespread social impact. Furthermore, both volunteers and beneficiaries get to have a good learning experience, which makes the whole process enjoyable. Food Cycle mainly wants a world where every community unites to eliminate wasted food and social isolation. While maintaining this process, many benefits occur for both FoodCycle and communities. More companies become involved with the community as well as individuals who are helping, which eliminates social isolation.
