How Following Laws Affect My Life

Decent Essays
I may only be 13, but I have lived long enough to understand that there are laws that control my life. These laws help me control my behavior. They also affect how I act around other people. If I follow these laws it will help me stay out of trouble. My life goes easier when I follow these laws. One of my laws is to ignore people who bad mouth me or my teammates. Unfortunately, I don’t always follow this law. The day was Memorial Day, and Dylan had broken his collarbone during the semifinals. A player from the other team was making fun of Dylan. He told me, “I’m gonna break your collarbone.” I remember that we got a free kick outside of the box because another player fouled Nick Deack. The player who mouthed off to me jumped up for a header, and I kicked his legs out from under him. I realize now that it was not a smart thing to do. I should have followed my law of life and just ignored him. I got kicked out of the game, grounded, and in a lot of trouble. I disappointed my team, my coach, my family, and myself. …show more content…
Because I did not ignore the other player’s taunts I ended up being suspended for one game in the tournament. I got a red card and couldn’t play in the finals. We won the tournament, but I didn’t play in the championship game. I was so embarrassed, and in a lot of trouble.
The next day I talked with my coach. He said, “Next time tell me or the referee.” I said, “Ok, next time I will and I’ll make smarter choices.” I now do as he told

There were many decisions that I had to make in order to positively impact the team. One of these was kicking a teammate of the team due to an incident at a party on the weekend. I could have either voted to not kick him off which would make the football team look bad and show other players they can get away with the same act. Or kick him off showing the school the football team takes pride in being a good example around the school and show the underclassmen that we do not put up with what this player partook in. Furthermore, we did kick the player off the team in turn looking at the bigger picture of the team as a whole and not my own personal…

A video was released on social media; Jose Bautista was on the on deck circle waiting for his turn to hit when a white male was hassling Bautista about not having a hit all game. The white male made fun of bautista about a lot of things like his checkbook in his back pocket but not a base hit, Bautista turns back and let the male know that his checkbook would not be able to fit in his back pocket and went back to minding his own business. It may have not stopped the male from continuing his inappropriate comments but Bautista interacting back with him shows that Bautista can take a joke and fire back. Instead of the comments getting to him he simply jokes with the male right back and gets back to his job. If a different player with less patience would have encountered the situation it would have ended bad compared to how Bautista took care of…
