The experiment that I will be conducting focuses on how fast one tablet of Alka seltzer can dissolve in various temperatures of water. The core of this procedure is to determine the impact that temperature has on how fast something dissolves. My hypothesis for this experiment would be that the Alka Seltzer that dissolves the fastest would be the one that was placed in the water with the highest temperature. There will be controlled and manipulated variables explained throughout the experiment. The two main things used in this experiment will be the solute and the solvent, which is Alka Seltzer and water. A variable is any factor, trait, or condition that can exist in differing amounts or types. There are also different kinds of variables. An experiment usually has both controlled variables and manipulated variables. There are a combination of both variables used in an experiment. In the experiment that I am doing, there are more controlled variables than there are manipulated variables. The controlled variable in a scientific experiment is the element which is constant and unchanged throughout the entire span of the observation. There are quite a few controlled variables used in the experiment. The controlled variables are water, the amount of water, Alka Seltzer, and the amount of Alka Seltzer. When conducting this experiment, I will use the same type of water and I will be using the same amount of water for each attempt. Increasing the temperature of a solvent speeds up the movement of its particles. This speeding up will cause more solvent particles to collide into the solute. Under those circumstances, solute particles end up breaking loose and dissolve faster. Temperature usually affects solubility rates. Heating up the solvent gives the molecules more kinetic energy. The faster motion means that the solvent molecules collide with the solute with a higher frequency and the collisions occur with more force. Both components help to increase the rate at which the solute dissolves. A change of temperature does not only affect the rate of dissolving, but it also affects the amount of solute that
