In a lot of ways, ‘technology’ in the broad sense is the one key element that separates modern humans from our predecessors over the course of time, as it is one of the only elements of this species’ history, that is consistently, as well as variably influenced, by the respective socio-cultural, economic, and moral factors of a given time and place in human history.
