How much time do you spend on your phone each day? Or even just looking at a screen of some sort? Even if it’s at work every corner you turn there is some sort of electronic being used. Today in society all we see are screens. People in society today don’t even know how to have a civil and professional conversation with each other. For example there are many people who have written about this topic such as Matthew Lynch, and Sarah Brian, and also from other personal experiences that have to due very closely to this subject that children are addicted to screens. In one article by Matthew Lynch he states that “Electronics affect the brain the same way that cocaine does (Lynch). This is very important because it proves that these electronics can also affect the brain and they will be bad just like drugs are to the brain. Children are addicted to electronics because there are children who throw tantrums if they don’t have their electronics. This is why some children fall asleep in class while they are at school, because they are up for all hours of the night texting or calling their friends. Also i believe children are addicted to screens because all they talk about are the apps that are on their electronics, or they ask each other for numbers because they are too afraid to talk too each other in person. Another statement used in this article is ¨But when children get their phones or electronics taken it can be for the better because they have more interaction with their family and friends¨ (Brian). This is important because if we put down electronics for more than 30 minutes a day then e could have so much more interactions with family and
