Education: The Key To Success Education could be a factor that influences a person’s interpretation of success. Everyone starts at different places, and each determines his or her own type of success. How could education affect people’s views on success? In some cases, people have become successful with just basic education. Because there are different ways of becoming successful, I decided to explore how people’s views on success differ. For this research, two different groups were asked the same questions through a survey, which focused on definitions of success. Then, I researched valuable information, that can support some answers from my survey. Through this experiment, I expected most of the answers to be short and vague. However, …show more content…
For instance, participant 3 said that one can prepare to become successful by learning from mistakes. Because failure allows people to reflect their skills, they learn how to take the right steps. In my database research, I came across an article that talks about this point. “The Only Way To Achieve Is To Become Comfortable With Rejection” by Linda Blair explains that the creator of the bagless vacuum cleaner, James Dyson, had to try 5,127 times modifications in order to get it right. Blair states “James Dyson told the BBC in an interview just after the launch of a more recent invention, the Airblade Tap, that "failure is the best medicine -- as long as you learn something." This demonstrates that in life we often go wrong so we have the chance to prove our potential and become successful. Failure is not the only path to success of course. For example, participant 4 said that education is the only way to achieve success. Participant 4, who is still young, believes that the way to prepare for success is by going to school. He says, “In school we learn many skills and information that can help people to be prepared for a successful career.” In the same way, the article “The Examination Of Personal Competencies As Collateral Of Success From The Point Of Views Of Students” reveals the answers from a group of experienced college students about what guarantees success. The answer that most students picked was to utilize gained knowledge. Based on this research the students believe that higher education institutions played a role in delivering the best knowledge that’s required for the professions. Therefore, the researchers concluded, “Higher education institutions have a key role in imparting the best and updated knowledge to their students tailored to market challenges, trends and requirements in addition to adapting to professional
