Yertle the Turtle, How do people gain power?
In this story there was a power thirsty turtle. This turtle’s name was Yertle. Yertle believed that he was the king over everything he could see. The way he achieved his power was by stacking up on his fellow turtles. Eventually the turtles on the bottom had grown tired. Next one belch from the bottom turtle had thrown Yertle right off his high throne. Now the turtles have no king and live freely.

I learned throughout this article that there are different ways people gain/maintain their power. The ways that spoke out to me the most were charismatic power and expert power. The way people maintain charismatic power is by being influential to where you can gain a lot of supporting followers who are willing to work for you. When holding onto expert power you need to kave studies and knowledge. This way you have people following you due to the fact that you are their superior in intelligence.
Ghandi’s Five Teachings to Bring About World Peace, Does power always corrupt so some level? I believe that in this passage Gandhi has proved that you can have power without physical abuse. This is great for the world, but was Ghandi the slightest bit corrupt? In this article it seems that Gandhi was not corrupted by his power. I think he had such goal that went beyond human nature. He thought about everyone, and was willing to sacrifice himself for the succession of others. Poetry
