Wifi is used all over the world. Every wonder how it was made? Hedy Lamar created frequency hopping in the 1940s which lead to wifi. She created the frequency hopping technique for the navy, but when she explained it to them they said it would never work. So Hedy Lamar gave her patent to the Navy and never earned a penny off her invention. She died at the age of eighty six and did not get much credit for her idea. Now, wifi is used everyday by millions of people. Hedy Lamar made a huge impact in everyone's everyday lives with wifi. Social media is now used because of wifi, and its not just used to chat with friends. Social media like: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Snapchat help many businesses around the world advertise their products. There are a million people on social media so plenty of people would so the advertisement. Another positive outcome of social media is that you get to contact and share things with your family and friends far away. Maybe you lost touch with a high school friend just look them up on Facebook and maybe you will find them. Another reason is that you can find a new interest maybe you see a picture of someone playing soccer or dancing and decide thats something you want to do. New interests, friends, and advertisement have all had a positive outcome because of wifi. …show more content…
