Theres a lot of controversy surrounding this topic, many argue it helps society, while many others argue its ruining society with the content of the games.

scientists have run tests, done experiments, done extensive research and notes. Those that argue that it helps say that it provides an outlet for young children and adolescent teens with aggression, depression, and other issues as well as also helping develop a persons hand-eye coordination. they also argue that because people are playing these games it keeps bad things off the streets, saying it dropped the rate of crime. Such as natural disasters, or corruption and terrorists. this is just a topic that has been debated for a while because it started showing up in civilian shootings and has been stereotyped to every shooting as an act of attention or loss of a person 's sense of reality. while a lot of this can be related to video games the reason these things happen is because these people failed to understand that its all just virtual nothingness and that they seem to misunderstand life being just life and even worse fail to fully understand death. These people use video games as a scapegoat, most aren 't very mentally stable to begin with, maybe they are depressed or just aggressive already and video games just gives them reasons to lash out amongst their friends and peers. video games are a great outlet for those who actually know how to understand both virtual life and reality, they can help kids in stressful lives and it can even connect old friends and even help you make new friends over the internet connection thats become involved in gaming. “Every age has its storytelling form, and video gaming is a huge part of our culture. This research is not suggesting nor is it saying that violent video games are making the world safer, it is plainly saying that it could easily divert felons away from committing a crime to say, go see a movie, a bar, or just stay home to play video games. if one question is why is it that videogames are the main focus, why not violent movies, or even the media? the answer to this is called “moral panic” it is basically those of societal power blaming things they think less of or do not value for the wrongs and evils of the world, thus referring back to this being a scapegoat for people, an excuse to argue or get upset, diverting attention away from real problems or self blame. some of the other studies are saying that it affects children in a different way. by making them morally immature, that children exposed to long amounts of video games tend to miss or have delayed development stages. children ranging from 13 to 14 after being exposed for long amounts of time either slowly or never developed the third stage of development which allows them to empathize with others. another of the factor is that they tend to stay secluded for long amounts of time to a point to where they do not seem to take others thoughts and ideas into consideration, normally focusing on their
