How Does Victor Frankenstein Change

Victor Frankenstein said, “The world was to me a secret which I desired to devine.”(Shelly) He is a scientist who created a monster for the greater good of science and humanity. In the beginning of the story, Victor believes his plan to create life was a great idea. He eventually becomes obsessed with the fact that he would almost be like a god for performing such a “good” deed. Soon after the creature is created, he realizes that what he has done is a mistake and therefore abandons it. Essentially, absolving him from all blame. This results in a lot of conflict between both characters throughout the rest of the story. Throughout the story, Victor learns a multitude of things and his perspective is changed. Soon the creation is all he thinks and worries about. The creature caused the death of Victor’s youngest brother, wife, best friend, and also two other innocent people, indirectly. Although he is torn by remorse, guilt, and shame, Victor still neglects to tell anyone of his hideous creation, even as he sees the actions of the monster spiraling out of control. Victor changes completely from a young curious scientist to a guilt ridden man. Before the death of his wife, the creature had offered him a proposal in which Victor agrees the creature will not cause any more harm to Victor or anyone else he loves. Victor was proposed that if he makes another creature as hideous as him, they could run away far from habilitation and life to where they could live on their own. At first Victor agrees but again at the site of what he is again doing he stops and decides to dispose of the body parts which enrages the creature even further. The monster then tells Victor that he will be with him on his wedding night. This haunts Victor and causes him to be cautious, wary, stressed, and concerned. On his wedding night, Victor is on the lookout for the creature, but his wife ends up being killed. Victor’s creation has taken all of his loved ones and is taking complete control of his
