The most obvious victim of racism in ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ was Tom Robinson. Tom was considered to be a part of the lowest class in Maycomb. He was a black man that was accused of raping Bob Ewell’s daughter, Mayella Ewell. In the book he was portrayed as a hard-working, warm hearted man who would help others in need. Bob Ewells was one of the trouble makers in the town and accused Tom of raping Mayella. Tom was brought in front of a very prejudice jury that consisted of all Caucasians.
